RECORDS

The BSF has three categories of Swimming Records:

1)    Bahamian Records - 50m and 25m record times by BSF Swimmers who are Bahamian citizens in a swim meet anywhere in the world

2)    Bahamian Open Records - 50m and 25m record times by BSF or foreign registered Swimmers in any swim meet in The Bahamas.

3)    National Championship Records - 50m and 25m record times by BSF swimmers participating in a National Championship.

Separate records are maintained for Age Group, Open and Masters classifications.

The Age Group classifications are:    8 years & Under; 9 -10 years; 11 - 12 years; 13 - 14 years; and, 15 years & Over for both genders.

The BSF-recognised distances and styles for records purposes in 50m and 25m Pools are:

Freestyle: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. For Relays: 4 x 50m and 4 x 100m.

Backstroke: 50m, 100m, and 200m.

Breaststroke: 50m, 100m and 200m.

Butterfly: 50m, 100m and 200m.

Medley: 100m, 200m and 400m. For Relays: 4 x 50m and 4 x 100m.

Please note that the BSF does not currently recognise any records for 25m races.
