ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES

The International Standard for Testing requires the analysis of Doping Control Samples according to the following principles: FINA and the BOA must send Doping Control Samples only to WADA-accredited laboratories or WADA approved laboratories for analysis. FINA and the BOA have exclusive choice in determining the WADA-accredited laboratory [or other method approved by WADA] used for Sample analysis. The laboratory analyses Doping Control Samples to detect Prohibited Substances and Prohibited Methods identified on the Prohibited List, and other substances as directed by WADA pursuant to Article 4.5 of the Code [Monitoring Program]. The laboratory may not use Samples for any purpose other than the detection of substances [or classes of substances] or methods on the Prohibited List, or as WADA otherwise stipulates pursuant to Article 4.5 of the Code [Monitoring Program], without the Competitor's written consent. Laboratories analyse Doping Control Samples and report results in conformity with the most current International Standard for laboratory analysis. The International Standard for Testing does not require B Samples for the analysis of blood. |
